Global meat consumption has recorded a year-on-year increase when compared to figures from 2015 which was expected due to population increase. Convenience products and ready to eat meals are the biggest growing sectors in the meat and poultry industry.
OctoFrost freezer is defined by the following food safety features: free-standing, no joints, easy access for cleaning, and cleanable design. Some meat processors call the OctoFrost freezer as “the only food safe IQF chicken freezer on the market today”. Designed with up to 5 adjustable freezing zones which means that each zone can be set to a specific fan speed, together with an efficient SRS system and an unique design of the step front coil, the time between defrost is significantly prolonged for IQF meat and chicken products with higher in feed temperature.
Food safety is a top priority for customers in a modern food processing industry. With bacteria like listeria, salmonella and E. coli that can be found in meat and poultry, the mono-block design, rounded corners and no joints of the OctoFrost™'s IQF freezing tunnel ensure that bacteria have nowhere to hide. The open access and exchangeable bedplates for easy efficient cleaning further boost the level of food safety. Additionally, the OctoFrost™ IQF tunnel is equipped with a Clean In Place system and a foam system for disinfection and cleaning between production.
IQF chicken, as well as challenging products like raw or minced meat or sticky marinated meat, can be frozen by OctoFrost™ with good separation using the features of the bed vibrator or pulsator. Despite any other technologies, the OctoFrost™ IQF tunnel freezer ensures more performance, at lower power consumption. For OctoFrost, food safety, natural taste and appearance are the main goals.
IQF chicken is usually cut in dices or stripes, marinated, cooked or raw. When marinated, the usual ingredients are oil, water, sugar and different spices. Raw meat can be minced or diced while cooked meat (such as ham, bacon or pepperoni) can be also diced or striped. It is important to note that a common characteristic when producing IQF meat and IQF chicken can be high infeed temperatures.
