Sustainable Product Development
OctoFrost’s aim is to contribute to the decrease of global food waste by making the most of the raw materials used in the freezing process. When it comes to energy efficiency, the OctoFrost™ IQF food processing line offers some of the greatest benefits. The OctoFrost™ IQF technology ensures lower energy consumption and waste for full IQF processing. This is due to the design and innovative technologies of our IQF food processing equipment: IF Cooker, IF Blancher, IF Chiller, and IQF tunnel freezer. There is energy efficient steam injected into the blanching and cooking water as well as significantly faster heat transfer thanks to the unique impingement rain shower system.
Furthermore, the OctoFrost™ processing line also uses recirculated water. The tunnel freezer features patented bedplates instead of a conveyor belt and has a compact octagonal body that provides efficient aerodynamics throughout. A compact body and less turbulence require less fan speed and power consumption. Additionally, the OctoFrost™ processing line has decreased energy consumption by up to 30% thanks to the high-performing fans and free-standing feet that require no need for floor heating.
